Last Steve Tyree Frag Order

Was curious how the preordering group buy worked out for all. Hadn't heard or seen anything from the last Tyree prebuy before his speaking engagement. Did the frags arrive packaged well, bad....were the frags small??colorful??

The frags from Tyree are all fairly small, but mine were all colorful when I recieved them. (I got them at the meeting auction.)

I got a frag, its supose to be a finickly coral, seems to be incrusting well. They were packed well tripple baged, shipped in a large cooler. Overall ... not impressed though. Coral looks nothing like his pics. It was a very bland green color from day 1. It was an avarage frag size though ... bout 1.5 inches.
I also ask about another coral that was sold out, he said he was going to some guys to see if he had any extra and he'd let me know, never did, then he said @ meeting that he got 6 other frags of it to fill orders.

Mine are still in qurantine I would have been happier if they had come straight to me but they had a stop over.
The efflo looked great but kicked the bucket.
The other which is surposed to be hard to keep is doing well but was browned out but seems to be growing and shifting color. Not sure if that will ever go in my main tank as I didn't like the way the efflo kicked it so quarantine is on going.
I would rather throw them in the trash than infect my main tank with something.

The two I purchased are doing well.
The limited edition Montipora was brown when I first got it.
It has changed to green and blue and is close to the color
in the Tyree picture. It is growing well. It should match the picture in a couple of weeks. I have a superman danae that I got from pacific east about the same time that has taken the same amount of time to look like the pics.

All that I purchased are healthy but look nothing like the pics. I expected small frags but some of them are just a fingernail sized piece encrusted on a rock. A little smaller than expected. I will post my pieces and his pics for comparison.

Mike, looks like your frags have decent colors so far. I've heard and experienced varying results from Tyree orders. Let's see some more folks!

I guess a lot of the color would have to do with bulbs too. I run 10K AB. The pics from him are under 20K bulbs.

Most corals will change color to some degree due to shipping, lighting, depth in tank, and chemistry

i have a speciosa favia (red and green christmas favia) and it is about 3 polyps, about .5" but I got it for free though so im not complaining, ill post a pic in the morning when the lights are on
