Leaking bulkhead on new tank

Is the algae gone yet?

I am in the process of setting up a 150G tank. It was drilled by it's previous owner for closed loop, and also has a calfo style overflow.

I got the fresh water drained and put it onto the new stand Friday, and started filling it yesterday.

I've got about 80 gallons of SW in it. When I looked at it this morning, it has a seepage, drip leak from one of the bulkheads....naturally at the bottom. There's a puddle about a foot around from it, and I can see water forming drops on the bulkhead. It's plenty tight, and there is no obvious deformation of the gasket, which is on the tank inside of the bulkhead. I also tried to rotate the bulkhead 90 degrees in either direction, no help.

Liam, if you have any thoughts, it would be appreciated as well. If you are facing the back of the tank, it is the bulkhead on the lower right.

So, anyone have any suggestions other than drain the damn 80G of water out, replace it and start over again?

Just make sure it isn't overtightened, I had a problem with that in the past. Other than that can you try another bulkhead? Also, I have had to put a small coating of silicone on a bulkhead thread before but only as a last resort.

I backed the nut off a little bit....and it got worse

Guess it's a new bulkhead and an 80G drain :(

It ticks me off because I leak tested it first! I guess it's a good thing it's on a concrete floor

maybe the gasket took a set from its previous position and then got moved creating a bad seal.I would got with a new gasket to be safe.

I drained the tank below closed loop level into my stock tank and replaced entire bulkhead. When I got it apart, it looked like a hairline crack along the plastic casting. Must have been from the rough ride it had on it's way from Abington :D

Water is slowly getting put back in. Got 120 Gallons for it now, almost 1/2 way. Only 9 bucks for a new bulkhead, and better a leak now than when I'm away at the Cape (or worse)
