Hi Reefers

I am starting to shop around for LED lightning systems.

Coral Magazine Sep/Oct 2011 has a great article on the topic.

It seems as though many LED systems are rated for Reef usage with Soft corals.

What are you SPS folks using for LED fixtures?

I will be coming off of a Marineland Pro Series fixture. 2 x 150W 14K HQI with 4 x t5 460's. This light with Red Sea Coral Pro salt has contributed some awesome sps and Clam growth.

I have 2 EcoTech Radions over my 90 and have no issues with them besides the fact I had to get a Ca reactor to keep up with the increasing dosage of ca and Alk from all my growth.

Everything looks great and people who are skeptical about LEDs think everything looks good.

At 90%, I can keep sps who's color normally won't be right unless in a high light area on my sand and they look awesome.

I'd recommend these over the cheap Chinese fixtures that keep coming on the market. I can't say anything bad about the AI because I have no personal experience with them but the few people I've talked to have basically come to the same conclusion. After a few months with a reduced spectrum, their sps shift color and look bland while growth remains decent.

Got Radion on 60 cube. Got some Birdnest, green slimer, monti. All doing well.

We run 2 Apollo reef led fixtures on our 75 and 1 one on 20 long frag tank, both sps dominated. The sps love it. IMO its just as bright as the expensive fixtures but without all the bells and whistles so they are half the price. Their made in the USA and use bridgelux leds

AI Sol. Have them for about a month and really pleased so far.

Hi - This info is helpful - I am also hearing good things about the Aqua UFO lights. I asked a month ago for a friend who did buy them. I need to see them again before I Make my final decision.
