Led, one goes out the rest don't work?

Have a rapid led 2 color Dimmable on my biocube 14. Trying to fix it, I have one led that doesn't work, and I jumped the led with a short piece of wire and they worked. So I guess the led is burnt out.


Will I need to replace this led to get the rest to work?

Also what would cause one led to burn out quickly (like 2 months)

I just jumped it on my brothers, but you can buy replacements cheaply as well.

Was it corroded from salt? Did you put the original plastic cover over your kit?

The one the red tester lead is pointing to.

Had the stock biocube cover on, no water condensation or salt corrosion inside the stock plastic cover that I noticed

Hmmm that's weird, could be a dud.

Is it just the picture or do the LEDs all the way to the left and right (same row) have burn marks on them?

Was there some sort of special adhesive needed between the led and heat sink in order to disperse heat properly?

The led all the way to the left center row (cool white) does have some kind of burn mark, but all the whites work.


I did use thermal grease on the back of the LEDs where it contacts the heat sink to disperse heat
