Little baby snails all over the place

nice man...that happened to me a few weeks ago, unfortunatly they all dissapeared:(

are snails born with there shells? And do there shells grow with them, or do they make new ones or get new ones somehow everytime they get too big for there current one.?
 
Those probably aren't babies either, Ceriths in my tank are never much bigger than 1/4" long.. not sure where they come from but sometimes I see one or two, sometimes one or two dozen...
 
I just went down to view the tank and there are now literally hundreds of these certh snails all over the 4 sides of the tank :eek: :eek: they are everywhere!!

Is there a such thing as TOO many??
 
Yes, bag them all up & I'll take them ;)

I'm pretty sure the population will regulate itself. So much food can only support a certain biomass. I freaked out like you did when I saw the 1000s (no joke) of Collonista snails in my tank at night. They have made there way into everything! They blocked up my Hydor so often, I had to take it off, and they loooove the sump, including my skimmer body. Thankfully, none have jammed by pumps yet, but I think they'd just become puree.
