Little Giant

I am looking at buying a little giant return pump for my sump does anyone have any experience with them...

I used to sell little giant pumps when I worked at a plumbing supply house. They seemed like a pretty decent pump. Obviously a different grade of pump but they were pretty good. The repping company is in Randolph.

I have been using them for about 10 years, great pumps. I have one as a return pump right now as well as 2 backups which I will probably never need.

I have a LG4 and so far I like it. Its my first external pump and its located in the basement.

I personally hate them. I find them noisy, hot and expensive. Ive had multiple pumps crap out on me and some of them you need to oil so pay attention to that. I prefer Reeflo, or if you need smaller Iwaki or Blue Line.

PanWorld pumps are nice too, similar to the Iwaki (same engineer designed both pumps)
I have also had good luck with the Reeflo pumps and use a Dart on a closed loop.

IME the Blueline, Panworld, and Little Giant pumps I have used have all run at about the same temp and been similar as far as noise. That is comparing a Panworld 150PWS to a Little Giant MDQX-SC 4. Little Giant also makes some non fan cooled pumps, I know I have had the MDQX-SC 3 both fan cooled and non. The non fan cooled wqas dead silent to where you couldn't tell if it was running but was extremely hot to the touch as it had no active cooling. Most LG pumps as mentioned need to be oiled. There is a hole in the top of the housing and you drop a couple drops in there about one every month or two.
