Looking for LIVE Blackworms anyone have any.
I'll check Neds. You probably know this, but I get them from Tropical Isle. I also got them once at Uncle Neds Fish Factory but he mentioned to me they won't get them in the summer so not sure they'll have them now. Finally I do have some small quantity of live worms left (very small amount, semi old) and a bag of freeze dried blackworm cubes that I've been switching my butterfly to.. if you are in a pinch you can have them but you gotta come to worcester!
Mike,Group buy ?
I’ve ordered live blackworms from Eastern Aquatics in the past and they do a great job.
I have a cbb that apparently only eats them as of now, haven't picked it up yet. What amount of worms do you recommend?1/2lb is a lot of worms.
I can check with them to see if they’ll package an order separately by weight, I don’t have a scale to use to divvy up an order. Yea, I’d be willing to run with this - pickup would need to be same day or a day after.
Anyone else interested ?
Blackworms are awesome to get really picky eaters to start taking food in your tank.
Worked for me with a Copperband and a black leopard wrasse.
I'm in this same boat. I've used blackworms to transition other CBBs to frozen but my current one just doesn't seem to want to transition off blackworms. He will eat mysis in the morning but seems to mostly spit it out. I have, however, had pretty good success switching him to freeze dried. He now mainly eats these cubes (https://www.amazon.com/Super-Cichlids-Freeze-Dried-Blackworms/dp/B0CSPRXCH6/ ) and I'm waiting to receive these (https://www.ebay.com/itm/231629199040) because they are cheaper and easier to feed.I have a cbb that apparently only eats them as of now, haven't picked it up yet. I work 6-2 or 2:30 m-f in Canton and 11-5 at Reef Exclusive in Tewksbury on the weekend. So whatever day works for you I can meet up. I saw they ship Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, overnight shipping. Please let me know.
Live food is the best! I picked up some black worms two years ago at FFM and had plans to buy some this year but the vendor had an emergency and couldn't make the show...I wish more local stores had these live foods. Such an excellent healthy option for keeping fish in top shape. Im out of this group buy but potentially in the future.
Ill have to give it a shotJust picked up 2oz at Its a Pets World in North Weymouth
$20.98 for 2 ounces. Uncle Neds, Lovely Pets, nor Tropic Isle had any. The CBB along with my other fish loves them.Ill have to give it a shot
I had good success using frozen clams and musselsI'm in this same boat. I've actually tried, he's super not interested (also I feel like blackworms and clams are kind of similar levels of pain in the a** so I'm not dying to swap him). I've slowly moved him over to frozen by getting one of those 3d printed feeders (https://www.etsy.com/listing/1887585466/cloud-butterfly-fish-feeder-magnetic) and loading it with both blackworms and frozen mysis. He does love it and I think it helped force him to try frozen mysis because he started just viewing it as the thing that holds his food I guess.I had good success using frozen clams and mussels
