LiveAquaria just posted a public statement on social media apparently, see below:
Setting the Record Straight
There have been a lot of rumors floating around social media lately regarding LiveAquaria, some true and some not, so we are taking a minute to set the record straight…
LiveAquaria is in business and shipping orders daily. We are currently undergoing a period of reorganization with the goal of offering more variety and value to our customers in the most efficient way possible.
We have had some technical setbacks with the 25-year-old website that we are addressing with plans for a website redesign coming soon. This redesign has been in the works for some time.
It is true that a sister company of LiveAquaria, that acted as one of our many suppliers, is winding down business. This closure is related to changes in their key business partnerships and does not affect LiveAquaria.
LiveAquaria is selling our physical location in Wisconsin. This was a tough decision, but one we felt necessary to better serve our customers and to realign the financial fundamentals of the business as a whole.
Historically the majority of our livestock has shipped from California as it is the gateway to Asia and the Indo-Pacific, where so many of our favorite specimens come from. Shipping from California will allow for fewer touchpoints on our livestock, resulting in less stress. This will also help optimize our on time availability and costs to our customers - which is a key and enduring promise.
All livestock will be cared for appropriately and transferred to the West Coast facility in a responsible manner during this move.
Finally, all orders, terms, conditions, and guarantees will continue to be honored. If you have any questions on a pending order or other customer service related concern, please email us and we will respond as quickly as possible. We acknowledge that during this time of transition our Customer Service has been disrupted and we promise a return to the service you’ve become accustomed to over the years.
We appreciate your patience and loyalty, and look forward to meeting your live aquatic needs in the future!
