Ok so i'm redoing the return on my tank yet again. let me start by saying my return pump is a t4 with a 3/4 outlit. So what i want to do is break it off so that theres 4 returns back into the tank. The pvp that i use is 3/4 then i will switch to loc line to come over the top of the tank I bought some loc line from someone and its 1/2 not 3/4 so what i'm wondering if i use the 1/2 line is that going to work or should i keep the 3/4 that i had planned?
i think it will restrict your flow and drop the GPH from your pump. the best you could do i think would be to "T" each line to double the output for the return lines.....
I did this almost exact setup
My pump was 1" out, so I ran 1" up & over the tank & T'd of the 1" with 3/4" to 3/4" locline
I didn't T off until I was over the tank, and I have 1" feed going to each locline - at the connection it reduces to 3/4"
So I have 1" pipe serving (3) 3/4" pipes - no restriction there
I went with 3 - 1 return for each 2' section of tank
What size tank do you have?
As long as you go with 3/4" feed until you split off you will be fine
My flow was actually less then what I thought it would be
I put a ball valve on each locline feed so I can adjust flow
You will have 3/4 feed being divided to (4) 1/2" pipes
I don't see a restriction there. But maybe someone with hydraulics experience can jump in
right i would t off the first return pipe then use the locline y to spilt both returns from the t after the y it will go down to 1/2 loc line then 4 returns over the top
