Does anyone know where I can locally get a small heatsink along with some thermal epoxy. I'm doing a LED build and need to put the driver on something to keep it cool.

I checked Radioshack and Home Depot, no luck.

Thanks

You could try "you do it electronics" in Needham.I know they sell the epoxy not sure about the heatsink.

If you're just doing it for the you could get a used amp for car audio and use the top of that since it's just an aluminum heatsink...

As turbosnail said "you do it electronics" in Needham should have what you are looking for. Also, for the heat sink you could check computer stores for CPU heat-sinks. They usually come with fans, but you can take it off if you don't want to use it.

I'd suggest using thermal paste with a drilled heatsink instead of thermal epoxy if you ever want to change arrangement of LEDs. Just a heads up.
Radioshack should have it.

Heatsinks +1 on a blown amp. I've heard of people pulling them from tv's too (LCD? Dlp?I'm not sure)
most people on nano reef use heatsink USA
if you're not running 3w's at max (1000ma) you could probably get away with U tube or flat aluminum but I'd still suggest fans

mccmaster.com may have what you need as well. But locally.. i'll back up you-do-it in needham. I just wish they were closer!

Micro Center in Cambridge should have some thermal epoxy. They have a ton of computer parts too that might work as a heatsink.
