120g of water all over the floor is VERY VERY BAD!!
Not worth the risk. Every time you leave the house that will be on your mind
New tank at no charge, period!
Make it two so I can get back in the hobby for cheap when you give me one.

PS: Mr.X - If the tank breaks I can't say I will sell you my equipment cheap, but I will make it easier for you to get back in by maybe pooling an order for a couple of new tanks!
I wasn't looking for your equipment... I was joking that if you got a replacement tank you should tell them you want two, and then give me one.
60% refund isn't too bad if you can live with the dings. More money for other stuff!
So is CADLIGHTS going to pay for the $30,000 of damage that a 120 gallon tank failure will cause? I wouldn't trust it. You paid for a "new" tank not a damaged tank. 15 gallons of RODI water caused $10,000 of damage to my downstairs neighbor's house. Thank God for insurance.
Not arguing any that guys. If I do decide and take the refund, Cadlights is off the hook. It's my choice and ultimately my decision.
I have asked for solid reasons and fact as to "WHY" these cracks would fail. No one has been able to give me any. I would be taking a gamble on it holding off as I would on it failing as far as I see it.
If I can get a $2000 set up for $800 and be willing to make an educated guess in it's integrety and take the risk, it might be worth it. Maybe not for one person but it might be for some one else (or me in this case). Now if it breaks, I learned my lesson. It all comes down to "risk and rewards" as it would in any gamble.
For me, if the tank breaks with in the next year, they will replace it. And I have to deal with the aftermath... If it lasts longer, I won...
Please call me crazy!!! It's just my "thought process"... All that being said, I am not sure what exactly I will do...
Thanks so much guys
Higor
Thanks Matt. You make a valid point about the bottom chip. I am looking into away to re-innforce it, just to be safe. It will also be under 2" of sand.
As far as the warrantty, it still stands. As part of the deal, they have sent me the warranty in writting and have ammended it so that it specificaly mentions that the surface glass chips...
"In reference to custom aquarium 48 x 30 x 20 for Higor Cruz. 3 surface chips has been found upon delivery. After inspection we found them to be surface chips and are safe to use as normally intended to and this full warranty listed above applies to this aquarium."

If the tank leaks while under warranty the manufacturer is most definately liable for any damage it causes. You can't waive your liability on something you build, though you can write it and hope someone believes it. Make sure your insurance covers a tank leak and fill it up. That way your insurance company can subrogate the claim against Cadlights if they wish....
