low water pressure in RO

Haven't posted in forever.

With the cold weather my water pressure has dropped to less than 10% running through my RO. The membrane and DI need to be changed but as far as I know the lack of pressure is coming from the pipes not old filters.

Suggestion on pressure increase type of mechanism. Not sure what they're called, or what they cost

If you have a well for water you need a booster pump most likely. I just got my RODI and am bummed i have to spend $140 on a booster pump now.

Hello, when Marc Levinson came to the clubs meeting back in October 2011 I believe it was. Marc mentioned something about if the water was cold it would slow down the RO/DI unit from processing water. He mentioned setting something up to preheat the water a little to bring it up to room temp before it gets to the filters would help immensely and save the membrane.

If I remember correctly it was comparable to coiling the line and running the line through a five gallon bucket filled with hot water first.

Not sure if this will help with your issue, but it is what I remember him mentioning could be an issue with water pressure.

Good luck
