Mag pump electrical help

So I have a mag 5 that has been sitting around. I went to pick up the pump and right where the electrical goes into it, the black casing around the wires cracked and split right where it meets the pump. How can I go about fixing this? Or is it something that can't safely be fixed for safety of inhabitants? Will post pictures tonight if any one needs for advice. Thanks

I don't know. Inside is probably encased in epoxy, but I'm not going to be the guy who said it wouldn't electrocute you.

Maybe try posting the question on the RC DIY forum, someone over there might actually know?

I had the same problem with a pump and just enough water would seep through and pop the gfci. I ended up taking it out letting it dry for a couple of days. Then just put a generous amount of silicone around it then let it dry completely and it has been fine ever since.

Yea maybe I'll throw up a post on rc.

I thought of siliconing it but wasn't sure if it would eventually pull away from the pump housing or not so I wasn't sure if that would be a good idea. If it is possible though what kind/where would I get the silicone?

That's disappointing, it was the original pump on my 72 that I replaced with a mag 7. Guess I won't have any back up anymore.
