I'd like to add a Regal angelfish along with my Emporer in my 180. one fish has vertical stripes while the other had horizontal, will that help them in getting along? I have plenty of good hiding places and caves in my rockwork. My emporer is a small adult about 4". He's very good with other fish except maybe a nudge at feeding but i think a lot of fish are like that. any suggestions? TIA

Regals are a touchy fish. I have heard anicdotaly of less success with them if they are not the big dog in the tank. I would guess that they might have problems with other large angels and tangs. My only personal experience with angels at all has been with a pair of regals in a tank where the most agressive fish are a copperbanded butterfly and rabbit, so I can't really say from experience.

You are welcome to come over an get a feeling for what their temperment is though.

maybe not worth the risk....thanks, anyone else?

I kept an adult emperor with my purple tang for a couple of years until recently giving the angel a new home to another reefer. They got along great with the royal gramma and school of chromises.
