We have many exciting events planned for this year, but they will require resources. Some of the leading experts in corals research in both soft and hard (reef-building) stony corals, including Dr. Charlie Veron (coming in from Australia) will be in the area to speak to our club. We also have a bus trip joint meeting/BBQ/frag swap scheduled with the Connecticut club (CTARS) and also the Manhattan Reefers at the Atlantis Aquarium (monster public reef tank) on Long Island. We'd like to have the funds available to make this trip accessible to any member interested in coming. ALL proceeds from the auction will go to fund club activities.

Food
Pizza will be served.

Livestock Donations:
It's time to dig into your frag collection and find the unusual stuff that will generate a lot of interest at auction. Corals, fish, or invertebrates will all be accepted, but please make sure what you donate is something that there will be a market for. Large, non-reef-safe fish, or invertebrates might not sell well.

Equipment Donations:
New or used reef equipment will be accepted. We are going to keep it to equipment for the hobby though...don't bring in your old TV or computer, etc. Also, if possible please try to clean up the equipment to make it presentable, and make sure you supply accurate information about the equipment (eg. needs new pump, runs fine, tank leaks but...).

General Information
We will be setting up a web site that will have photographs and descriptions of each item that will be at auction. We will give more details in a few days as to where to send photos, etc.

Susan (BRS treasurer, susyq458) is organizing the auction. We are all set for help on setting up the auction, but we could use some help on the DAY of the auction. If you are interested in helping on the day of the auction please PM susyq458.

We hope to have a station available for Paypal payments as we did at the last auction, but we are not certain if we will have it available as yet. Again, more info to follow.

This should be a very exciting and fun event. I hope you all can make it

I think I can actually go to this one - no trip scheduled that week. :p

Would it be possible to ask for some volunteers to bring stuff to the meeting for those of us who might not be able to make it? Might be good to set this up now?

Greg- If anyone has anything to donate, who and when do they contact? I have a perfectly operational EV-90 that's collecting dust that I would love to donate.

Thanks a lot and look forward to my first meeting!

hi
any news about the web site for the auction ?
would like to know what's for bidding?

In years past donations tend not to come in until the time is a bit closer. We have a site ready to go (thanks to Shawn, shunter), but posting the address at the moment is kind of pointless since it's MT.

Time

Has there been a time posted for the auction yet? I'm trying to juggle schedules with my wife and timing is everything. Sorry if I missed if it was posted somewhere else.

Registration will start at 12:15 PM. Bidding to start at 1:00 PM. Break for pizza about 2:30 PM.

Should be a blast.

We will have the web site with photos on line in a day or so.

The delay in the website is usually due to people like me taking forever to get pics of their donations in. :) The batteries in my camera haven't been holding a charge for what ever reason, but I'll have mine in tonight if I have to draw them myself. ;)

i cant make the meeting
where can i drop off some dry goods

thanks
