MetroWest Tank Tour?

Liquid

Non-member
Hi,

I've noticed that there are a few of us who are starting up tanks in the MetroWest area and I think it would be immensely helpful and informative to see what other people's setups are and for them to offer advice on mine. Would anyone else be interested in this? If so, let's put something together. I'll throw out a potential date of 1/22 as a starting point. Post your tank size and location here if you're willing to particpate.

125g.
Upton, MA

I would, but you guys wouldn't be too impressed at all. Mine is a very simple setup with nothing much to see. 90 gal with a few fish and liverock. Still learning as I go and going very slow at that.

Well I don't even have any fish yet so I'm certain I could learn a few things. Don't think that everyone's expecations are set so high, in fact there are several people that are just starting up (including myself) and I know I personally have a ton to learn from even a simple setup.

every once in a while we have a mini newbie metrowest meeting. You just missed one last Friday. Keep your eyes open it'll most likely happen again.
In the meanwhile keep asking questions.

Yeah I wanted to go to that but there was no way I could have made it from work in Boston out to Hudson by 6. :(

You can try to bribe some of us metrowest people with beers and after a few you can mike our brains:D .

He he he... a man aftah my own livah!

Anyone who can fix my remaining mechanical tank issues will be well rewarded, I can assure that. In the process I'll also reward myself for making the contact that fixed my problems. :D

If we do a tank tour, I'm in as a viewer (but not an exhibitor).
If I ever set up the 125, then I'll exhibit.

Cool. Since it seems as if we've got a few people tentatively onboard, what do people think about 1/22?

Richard, Upton is the town to the west of Hopkinton. 90W to 495S 1 Exit and a few miles to the West is basically where its at (or you could take 135W from Framingham, through Ashland and Hopkinton and then you're at Upton). I'm having problems with the skimmer (as you know), but the major problem that nobody seems to have an answer for on the web is a pretty extreme bubbling in the sump caused by the overflow lines. I think it is flow related, but I'm not sure how I can fix it.

Ayup!

I could participate/help support the metrowest thing 1/22. I'm in Shrewsbury and would be happy to put my 125 up for viewing.

I run my sump in the basement and tank on the first floor and if anyone is thinking about this kind of set-up, it might be helpful to take a look.

I would also be willing to put my tank up for viewing. Most of my corals are still frag size, but I have a fairly complete set up.

I could be in for a visit. 75g w/90g basement sump - 3 years old. In Boylston (about 10 min from the intersection of 495 & 290).

I would be down for be visited LMK when it will be my turn
