Milwaukee instrument calibration

Hi reefers couple of questions. Maybe someone can answer. I have an instrument Milwaukee to check salt levels. And it’s out of balance. For quite a long time, and I actually thought it was giving accurate readings. I wasn’t sure it needed to be calibrated. . and I wasn’t sure why my clowns were dying. A friend of mine tested my water with a manual cheap saltwater salinity Checker and he said that my salt water was at 1.016. That’s how I found out why my clowns were dying for that reason. because normally I do Water changes every two weeks.. does anybody know where I can get the liquid to calibrate the Milwaukee instrument?
I would appreciate for the help!

What model is it? The desktop ones you zero it out with DI water.
Thanks for responding. And helping me out. For the longest time I actually thought it was accurate thinking it didn’t need to be calibrated.

You will want to zero it out with ro water or even better distilled water every use.
Cheers thanks. God bless. That’s awesome that I can use distilled water. To bring it to zero.. sweet I don’t have to spend extra money to get the liquid.
