MJ900's

Salting away
Anyone have any experience with MJ900's on their heat output. Currently I have 2 Seio 620's in the tank. I want to crash the Seio water streams for more turbulence. I just added one of my old Hagen 802's and it raised the temp of the tank 2 degrees....Obviously I will not be putting my second 802 in the tank. I like to run my reef at 76-77 degrees overnight, so when the lights are on it doesn't go higher than 79 degrees...Maybe even add 3 mj 900's on a wavemaker...marinedepot is having a good deal on them...

All you need to do is look at the power consumption of the device the MJ900 is 8.5 Watts most of that power goes directly into heating your tank. The MJ1200 is 20 watts so for a 1/3 more flow you need to dissipate more than twice the power (power=heat).

3 mj900 will be pretty hot.
I use an mj1200 for mixing my saltwater change and it heat up the waer pretty good.

i ran 3 1200's on a wavemaker w/no heat issues
