Modern Stands

I am a huge fan of modern aquariums.

While browsing this morning, I found this website:

These are all laminated, but what wood could be used to create a similar color, grain pattern, etc.

First thing comes to mind is Poplar have a very similar color and grain. After a coat or two of the right stain, I think it will look very close.

Looks like laminated flooring from Lumber Liquidators.

I'm really liking the weathered look. I keep envisioning an Elos style stand (white) with these grey weathered doors.
