Looking at my plumbing & what I will do different
This is my external drains. I like that fact that the T's I used direct the water downwards

This is the inside. I dislike the fact that I never built an internal overflow
This leads to poor surface skimming
The 1" PVC is the return, that leads to (3) 1/2" flex pipes 12" long w/nozzles

This is the completed external drain setup
Very easy to shut-off & disconnect
I made sure the pipes going up - for air - went above the aquarium edge to prevent any leaks/floods. The top of each PVC is capped & has a 1/8" (?) hole drilled for air. These are actually fairly noisy - due to the fact that I nver finished my stand & never enclosed these
I guess I knew I might be swapping for the 180g :)
When I swap I will enclose these & soundproof the enclosure as much as possible

Doncha love that electric outlet dangling?
You would think after 2 years I might of fixed that
You would be thinking wrong :(

I new electric panel in the enclosure will be a MUST

125g will become a frag/fuge, plus another tank to keep fish in
