My reef is dying

Armando

v 4.0
got home to a dying reef. temp is OK. salinity is a little low. not sure why. will be doing water changes try to save it. wanna help? need saltwater. all i can say for now.

Oh god. That's not good at all.

Could this be from the sea hare incident.

I don't have any water mixed, but I'll start 20 gallons tonight.

did 20G water change, mixing another 20G. it will be a while before I get another 20G of RODI (6 hours). SPSs have 1 1/2 foot in heaven. LPSs have 1 foot. fish is OK. skimmer filling up quickly probably ammonia through the roof. stinks (literally).

I can sympathize with you. I've been battling a "little" nitrate problem lately and it's driving me crazy! My tank smelled of low tide a couple of days ago.. Tons of carbon and alot of water changed the past few days. I don't know if he is available, but Ray has NSW. Maybe it was the sea hare incident?????

I can hold corals, fish or the anemone or something if you want to get stuff out of your system right away, but we're far from you. Crap, I wish I could help somehow. Let me know if there is anything I can do, I'm free all day tomorow but will have the kids.

I could help with babysitting if Nate wants to bring water or get corals tomorrow.

just did the second water change. since yesterday i smelled something burning. while doing my water change now noticed something on fire under the water in the sump. was the heater temp probe. got somehow punched. not sure if this caused the tank crash as the temperature was OK 79 and i did not get zapped so if there was current it was low. mixing third batch might need RODI will call Scott or cbadrick or canuck for possible pickup.
