My Seneye Par Meter Experience

But I bet the 300w led is much better than a 90w led. Even the best Cree led are only 20 to 40% more light per watt than a generic led chip. By the way, Kessil led is not known by their par output, actually pretty low compare to most.

I think the maxisun works just fine if not better than the $300 kessil.

Kessil about to come to Concord with Bulk Reef Supply and challenge you to a duel.:eek::eek: LMAO!!
Make a video with Maxisun and test the par. I will be waiting to see that video. ;););)

The maxisun arrives tomorrow, hopefully I'll have time to rig it up for a dry seneye test over the weekend, but won't be setting up the new sump till New Year's Day "best case". So I won't have wet numbers for over a week.

The maxisun arrived yesterday,so far it looks good and appears fairly well built it has 2 cooling fans and a pretty heavy heatsink I can't see inside well enough to kelp if it's finned. What looks like buttons in the picks are just a sticker "kinda cheesy " hopefully I'll have time to power it up tomorrow.

Time flies and multichip/COB technology has advanced a lot.

This is a Cree multichip cool white spot light. Power consumption is 20w, 720 par at 8 inch height.

That’s pretty impressive for only 20 Watts of power. Kessil only gives me 2,100 ish @ 90 Watts.....measured @ 7” ( you can go blind from these lights if you end up staring for too long)

That is under water.
If measured in air, at 8 inch, I got 1700 par.

Your par number is reasonable for the type of light. Because they are alway sub-par, no pun intended, err..
Merry Christmas

I don’t do video. Sorry. That just not my thing.

Your like The Godfather of reefing and technology...you not doing videos is upsetting. You could teach many of the new people about the relationship of par and corals.:(

Ok so I set the light up at9" above my counter very easy to program with remote but the fans are kinda loud I'll try to post pics but with veg at 100 percent and bloom at 0 I got a par reading of 515 and with both veg and bloom at 100 I got 1087 and the fans louder
