New addition, acquiring this Sunday...

well, there is someone who needs to find a new home for their purple tang... its suffering a bit, and is clearly stressed, and according to its current keeper, its "fat and healthy"... well it might not be skinny, but it certainly isnt healthy, and is mal-nourished... it is also housed in a 30g cube *rolleyes*

it will be QT'd for a few weeks in a 20g tank, fed plenty of PROPER foods, and treated as a preventative measure... as i always do...

seeing i already have a established (and gorgeous ;)) purple tang in my display, this one will go in the 65g "fuge", until i get my 180 up and running, then they will be together, upon simultaneous introduction...

I will note, that neither of my tanks are suited for properly housing these fish, however they are both rescues, both from 30g tanks... if you think this one is in bad shape, which i think it is with the fins in the shape they are and the head rot, you should have seen the one presently in my display... and that one came from a sponsor LFS on THIS forum... sad, very sad indeed...

either way, whether my tanks are the suitable size i feel they should be for these fish, or not, they are both much better off in my care, than where they came from...

here it is, in its current state and tank, as i havent picked it up yet...

I have seen these up close and the colors are way better in person.

that Strawberry Shortcake looks sweet

that thing grows like molasses lol... i got it the first week of May, and all its managed to do is base out... and only a little... it has "beefed" up a tiny bit, and its color has gotten alot better though... i have a feeling its not gonna do much for a while, and then one day "poof", it'll be like the reef gods sprinkled magic dust on it and it will take off... or so im hoping lol...

... or the base will continue to encrust like the red planet! I see it's starting to branch out on the sides though, it should be a very interesting pattern down the line. I also can't wait to see that purple tang once he's all healed up.

I'm very envious of your zoa collection, it's something I'm going to strive for once I get my own place. Great Pictures as always!

The addition of my 2nd Purple Tang...

well, at the moment he is in QT... and being fed all kinds of goodies ;)

Thanks NG... i must say though, the collection and garden of zoas you got going in your nano, isnt anything to be ashamed about ;)

but your compliments are always very much appreciated...

the purple tang i am adding, is half the size of the one I have now... however, until the 180g goes up, he will be housed in my 65g "fuge", which now has a ton more flow than it did, after my koralias were tossed for leaking voltage into my tank a couple months back... added a koralia magnum 6, to go with the mag 9.5 return pump... now it stays squeaky clean, lol, jus like i like it ;)

very stoked on my 2nd Purple tang, which is currently in QT...

On your 180g are you going to do the same way..... no sand and no live rock?

no sand, no live rock... except for bio filtration live rock, which will be housed in my sump/ live rock "fuge"...

it will be made up of pillars, columns, towers and bridges... with zoa "court yards" and zoas growing up the sides of pillars and columns, and across the bridges... the sketches i have made, from all the ideas in my head, are heavily influenced by the acrchitecture of acncient Rome, as well as the idea behind the "Lost City of Atlantis"... it will be built entirely out of individual, but adhered, tiles...

its gonna be unlike anything anyone has ever seen before... i can promise you that ;)

it will consist of a few select fish, zoas and palys, as well as only branching sps corals.... i will no longer keep encrusting, or capping montiporas... as well as being barebottom, with very high flow... i will have at least (3) mp40's on the back wall, most likely (4) mp40's...

I have a vision, and it WILL become a reality... again, unlike anything, anyone has seen before...

Wow! I can't wait to see this!

So i decided to try a purple tipped hammer coral... it has 2 large heads and 4 smaller ones... its put down in the back between a couple columns and out of the strong flow, though it still gets a good amount, its been a week, and so far the flow it does get doesnt seem to bother it, but i will keep a close eye on it ;)

not one to usually keep lps, but a buddy of mine gave it to me, so i thought i would give it a whirl... lol... I pretty happy with it at this point...
