Hi

I'm planing to connect eshoppe pf800 overflow to Aqueon serie3 tomorrow. I have little to no knowledge of pluming at all so i beg some advises.

1. Will this thing seal the connection from overflow box to drain pipe?

2. Do i need any connector here? or just tight fit it in?

3. I know this part suppose to make drain noise quiet but how do i install?

Oh man, that stuff is for metal pipes. What you need is the purple primer and glue for pvc. Otis as well as other brands make it. I wish you had asked about that stuff before you used it. That pipe usually goes on the outside of the bulkhead, what size pipe and bulkhead is that?

so i should take them apart now? what the harm of using it?

black part i think is 1" and white is may be a 3/4? hmmm.

PVC glue bonds the fitting and the pipe together. The dope that you used is a thread sealant which just fills the gaps in threads helping prevent leaks in joints that may not have be made in all the way or have an irregular thread.

It actually to tight to take it apart now. May be i will need a new bulkhead now.

Arrrr

Yea, you need a new bulkhead. Is the side closest to me the return and the side that needs to be replaced the overflow drain? If so, is there a reason you don't want a 1" drain?

i just dont know how to connect part A to part B. They are same size.

lol this is new. Pipe dope is used for lubricating the threads on metal pipes, like the natural gas lines in your home, it helps get the pipes together. You want to use pvc glue/cement for pvc, dont bother using cleaner/primer (unless the pvc is really dirty). Thats more for plumbing with pressure applications.

Are you far from Wilmington? I will be stopping in Wilmington tomorrow afternoon and if you are close I may be able to stop by and give you a hand.

i live in Beverly

Did you figure out the bulkhead issue?

That bulkhead is designed to have a pvc pipe glued into it. Then you can slide the hose over the pvc pipe.
