Need help attaching powerheads to glass

I have a 90 gal tank with 4 maxijet 1200's on the back wall on a wavemaker. I got so frustrated with the suction cups not holding that I removed the brackets and tried to glue the powerheads to the glass with superglue gel. Unfortunately this only lasted one day and the glue failed. Now I can't even go back to the brackets because the groove on the back of the powerheads is full of glue. Any ideas to solve this problem? ( 2 of the powerheads are in the top corners and 2 had been about halfway down the back). Thanks for any ideas. Bob

You can easily make acrylic holders for your powerheads. Get some thin acrylic at Home Depot and an acrylic cutter. Cut the acrylic into thin strips (just wide enough to hold the powerhead). Get a heat gun and melt the acrylic so that it hangs over the edge of your tank. Drill holes in the acrylic that match the holes in your powerhead holder. Use nylon screws or tie wraps to attach the powerhead to the new acrylic holder. Voila!

The plastic hanging rods that come with them works fine you just need to stretch them over the top trim. They will let you put the head down about 5" or so. Never use suction cups with power heads.

Thanks for the ideas. Pete, I like the idea of magnets to mount the powerheads lower on the back wall. Do you just use algae cleaner magnets or are there magnets made specifically for this type of mounting application?
