im thinking now i have to remove the lr and corner him in
and problems with doing this will it cause any stress in the water chemsitry ??

im thinking this should only take me 10 minutes or so then i can out everything back in and do a water change

any ideas???
please let me know
thanks

sometimes the only way to catch a fish is to remove lr you should be ok with the water chemistry

One time I cut a peice of plexi the width of my 55 gallon.
Ten removed 1/2 the LR and then scared the fish over to that side and slid the plexi in place. It helped keep the fish ouut of the remaining LR so I could catch it easier.

We've used plexi and egg crate to kind of box them in one end of the tank. It worked rather well.

Plus, we used a clear specimen container to scoop them. Seemed a lot less stressful.

Good idea.
Once you can keep them out of the LR it makes things a lot easier.

If you do remove the rocks, don't remove the pieces that are on the bottom partially burried by the sand. That will release all kinds of nasties if the tank has been set up for any amount of time.

so i remove the tops of my lr and happend to skoot him over to the left side of my tank about ten minutes of trying to scoop him up the little bugger decided to jump into my overflow lol if only that happend when i first pulled out the first couple of pieces of lr
