Does anyone have a plastic strip heater that I can use? I just need to make 2 bends on a 1/4" thick acrylic piece. Thanks.

If your patient with a torch set very low you can pass over the area you want to bend by constantly moving the flame back and forth (this keep it from burning)until the acrylic starts to relax and bend via gravity.Patience thou it can take a few minutes which seems like a long time when your doing it.

If the pieces aren't that big I sometimes toss them in the oven, 300 degrees for a few minutes and they will be soft enough. I usually place them on a piece of aluminum foil but be careful they are really hot :)

willray is right do not heat it 2 fast or it will pit and who want 2 see that i us a piece of pipe and slowly heat and ben

The oven idea works well too.

Clamp the sheet with a metal bar along the edge u want to bend.....place on cookie sheet.

Postion it to allow the other side of the sheet some room to drop down as it heats up.

Cook at low temp.
