Neptune Aquacontroller 3 Questions

I am considering buying the AC3. Please post any pros/cons regarding this unit.
Specifically, I am interested in any issues with X10 control of MH lighting and the webserver capabilities of this unit.

Are there any issues with using X10 to control MH lighting with this unit? I have had great success/reliability with X10 MH lighting control with my current controller. Since my controller will be in my fish-room which is not close to my tank, reliable X10 operation is important for my system application.

Any issues with the webserver and/or remote operation and control? This is one of the big reasons I am considering this unit since my current controller does not include a webserver. I also like the idea of a "programming language" support in this unit - any issues here?

Chuck,
The AC3 supports x10 via an extra module. I'd recommend using a couple of DC8's, Socket expanders and extension cords than rely on X10 working every time.

The website is good for gathering data and programming the unit. The big feature to me is it's ability to send email to my cellphone. I get paged on very cold mornings letting me know I need an extra heater :)

Ac3

Thanks for the comments, Mauro. The email notification is definitely an added plus. For the X10, I believe I will only need an X10 powerline interface which I already have. I also like the idea that I have the option to go "hardwired" with the DC8's. Do I need anything other than the unit itself and the items mentioned here? I also already have probes that I assume connect to the AC3 via BNC connectors so I am planning to go with the AC3 base unit only (although a temp probe is included with the base unit).

How long have you had the AC3?

Any trouble with it?

mine has been solid, but I've only had it runing about 8 months....

the email feature is very sweet

I have had the AC3 about 2 years. It's saved me lots of aggravation with temp changes. It's reliably shut the lights ever night and ran cooling fans when needed. My only complaint is the temp prob is badly calibrated at initial startup (one time thing) . I'd also like 16 ports of power to start with...
