Net/Mesh group buy

I'm looking at making a top for my tank, for the same purposes as eggcrate: keep the fish in. I'm looking to get maybe 1/4" (nylon maybe?) netting that is as thin as possible so it doesnt stop light.

couple of sites I've seen:

Anyone used any of these places? Looks like you need to order a whole roll, so... groupbuy!

i don't know if you have tried a local fabric store, but i found really nice tooling fabric (i think that is what it is called) at one in boston. i spent $2.50 and had enough fabric to cover my 92g 2-3 times. just an idea if the group buy doesn't work out.

ScooterNH just did a buy on this stuff.

Drop him a PM and he can give you all the details. He even came up with a nifty way of building the screen. He had a TON of this stuff left over. I know he also had some samples. I think he ordered from the intermesh folks, but I'm not sure.

Yes I bought a HUGE roll of a monofilament mesh from these guys.

They have many different types of netting/mesh with various properties.
I believe I wound up with their ON3990 or ON3018 mesh. I had all the info posted on a thread in "another sites" forum and it's now all missing. I'll have to check my emails with the vendor for specifics.

But I have some small 2" samples of different types of netting, and I still have a decent amount of what I bought hanging in the garage. Not looking to make bucks off it but softie frags are always welcome ;-)

You could use that as long as it's the nylon screen and not metal. I thought of using it originally, but decided that it blocked far too much light. More so than plexiglas which blocks light.
