Hey there. My name is Jay. Relatively new to the hobby (<2years). Currently I have a 20 gal long nano. Im always doing some kind of research about the hobby or watching vids on youtube. Like many other newbies, ive made my share of mistakes but I think its part of this hobby.

Im honestly not sure of the "name brand" but I picked it up during the $1 per gal sale at Petco.

Yes, especially in such a small tank. Things can go bad pretty quickly as I have learned
