I've been eyeing this zebra moray at Sea Creatures for weeks. I finally decided to grab him.
I've been preparing for an eel for a while. I re-aquascaped my 110 and I now have caves throughout the tank, which I new would make an eel happy. As I expected, he swam into a cave upon introduction to my tank and hasn't moved in 2 days. I understand he'll hide for a while until he's used to his new environment so I'm not concerned. I've had him for 2 days and he doesn't yet seem interested in eating (tried squid, shrimp, and scallops). A crab boldly walked right past his face with no reaction. Again, I know it might take a while for him to take food. If I get to a week without him eating, is there something I should try? Should I attempt to dangle a live crab in front of him?
BTW - Sea Creatures is great. I've been going in a lot lately (and I live in Methuen, so it's a hike) and their livestock is amazing - real good prices too. This moray is almost 2 feet long and it was $25-$50 cheaper than most places I've seen one of this size.
