Hi everyone.

I'm a new guy to the forum. I had a 40 gal reef tank for about three years while I lived in Fl. Then I moved back up north and had to disassemble the tank. I recently got married and build a house on the cape. I am just starting to build a system again. I'm taking my time because I want to do things right and because its Stripper Season! It seems like a great group of people here and I look forward to joining the group. :D

Welcome CC Reefer:)!

Do you have any plans for your new system?

Hi everyone.

because its Stripper Season! :D

I'm assuming you mean Striper Season :D Stripper Season is year round:eek:

Welcome to the club!

Edit:
I've been looking for striper reports, what have you heard? I need to get on the surf! It's the only way I keep my sanity!

HAHAHAHAHA

LOL Well I guess that would be a hell of an introduction.

That was the one of my better spelling mistakes. I guess some would argue that stripper season all year round too but yes Stripers are what I like to fish for. :)

Miller I have started to put some thought into the system I would like to build. I was thinking about a 150 gal bow front. The fish tank will be in the living room so I would like to plumb it so I have the Sump in the basement. That way I can go big with the sump and hope the cooler temps down their will help with cooling. I'm fairly handy so I would like to build the sump myself out of acrylic. Never used acrylic before but I have been looking through the forums and there is a bunch of good info on it. I have some left over equipment from my last tank so I will use some of the MH lights.

Well I just about to hop on a flight home so I'll finish the wish list for the tank later.

Todd

Welcome to the club! Don't worry you aren't missing any good stripers yet, went out last sat, skunked still slow it needs to warm up a bit we need a couple 80 degree days. although the Cape could be another story; good luck with the new tank!

Welcome to BRS! I'm a newbie, too. Glad to see there are some fellow fishing enthusiasts here, too. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that striper season gets hot soon!!!

Welcome to the club from another southcoast native!!;)

Welcome to the club. Keep us posted on the tank build.

No fishing trips for me this year. :( I made the mistake of staying home one night last summer and now I have to pay for it. LOL

Welcome to BRS.
Glad to see you got permission to post.:)
RC is a great place for info, but there's nothing like the home crowd.:D

Welcome to the BRS! I grew up in Sandwich and like to think of myself as still a Cape Codder somewhat. Good luck on that tank build, and I have a basement sump setup so I would be happy to help out wherever I can! good luck!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

Marine Mike thanks for the offer. I will probably take you up on that. Do you have any picture of your basement setup? I'm going to take my time with the whole project. I just moved into a new house so there are a lot of other projects that have to be done before I get to the fish tank.

Apisto, the stripers are in. If you fish the canal wait for the tide to head east, lots of schoolies everywhere bluefish are already here and the squid are as well, went two night squidding and have done well and welcome CC

I do. As soon as I can shoot some to you I will. PM me your email address and I will send them directly. I use the Rubbermaid stock tank for my sump, mine is a 100 gallon. Run the skimmer in one end, lots of live rock, plumb out the existing bulkhead in the side and an external pump for the return. I use spaflex for everything and lots of valves to make maintenance easy.

Thanks Chip. Like I said its going to be a little while cause of all the yard work i have to do around the new house but when the time comes I might take you up on it. What sort of setup do you have?
