niger trigger in reef tank?

Thoughts...i know many people have types without problems...are they more likely to go sps, clams, or lps.

Most of the stories I have heard have been positive...but you never know...

Pennman has one in a softee tank and it does great from what he has told me

cool...need to upgrade though...i could do a very small one for a year or so...

humm...we will see... would rather have a tank to keep it longer. 1' in length would just be too much...but im going to get it at about 1.5 inches

I think Jim Tansey has one in a softy tank also. I've also kept them with everything except clams and sps without a problem.

I thought they were predators of motile inverts (crabs and snails)? Not a problem for those of you keeping them in softy tanks?

I think you are right...but some people seem to be able to do it, i assume its cuase they are very well fed.

I have one, great fish...no problems at all, but like so many "reef safe" additions, hope your results are the same. Of all triggers you almost never hear of problems with this one, I half expected some problems with crabs and snails but none.

I would get a small one. I've seen them the size of a nickel. It'll probably be less apt to be a problem that way.

i have to get a tiny one it will be in a 92 corner till i upgrade...sooner then later.

I have had a Niger in my reef for about a year now. Grow double in size, larger than my powder blue now. I haven't had any problems with him, and i run sps, lps and softies. I wouldn't suggest clams though, he loves fresh water clams, and i have been too afraid to try a $50 clam as a test.
