NO MH untill saturday night maybe sunday ?

Jennifer

Moody and emotional slob
Do you guys think it is a big deal if I do not have my MH running till saturday night or sunday?
I do have 440 watts of actinics running.
I was just thinking about not reassembling my ballast until the new parts arrive.
Personally I do not think it is a big deal but I wanted a second or third or fourth opinion.:D

how long have the MH's been out so far, and what do you have in your tank?
I'd think that most corals would be fine, the more light demanding may color down a little. I've never gone without for that long, but it wouldn't be all that dissimilar to a few cloudy days at sea IMO.

There's gotta be some pretty dark consecutive days on a natural reef.
I agree you may lose a smidge of color.

I had a bulb burn out on me and it took a week to get a new one in the mail. Everything was fine.

Don't know if this helps, maybe I shouldn't be the one to dish out tank advice-but, I have had MH off for about that long once before, no real issues, maybe a slight(I realy didnt' notice..) change in color and a little ticked till the MH returned and all was fine. If ya need I have a spare 250w HQI and reflector(no bulb unfortunately, or wiriing harness for it) but it's sitting on da floor doin nothing and you can borrow for as long as you need...I know what it's like to want lights:rolleyes:

yes, I still hate Icecap and I give up!

Thanks for the help all.:D

Thanks T, I should have my lighting fixed on Sat before I come to your house to fix your lights.:D. If I have not fixed my lights by the time I have to go to your house then I may take you up on the offer.

Almost forgot: The lights have not been on for 2 days now. It will be about 6 or 7 days in total with no MH.

OMG....it's been 6 or 7 days with no MH.....anyone have a fix?Please sir,just 10 minutes..can you spare 10 minutes?
No worries Jenn,been 15 months....without...

^^^

Absolutely
If it last longer, well you live in salem......go burn a witch or something.lol

Gee, I wonder how much PAR you'd get out of a burning witch mounted in a luminarc?

Too funny guys.
Yup just a cloudy week.
15 months Geez BOB that be a long time.

Burn a witch HUH. Wait till I tell my coven you said that. I smell a hex coming on.

Kidding:
plus I only ride my broom stick on thursdays during a full moon. You have to make sure you fly under a ladder while throwing a black cat into a mirror. LOL

I leave mine off on purpose when I am away in the summer when I know it is going to be real hot. I did it for five days last summer with no noticable issues.

UMMMM>>>>I'm NOT goign to Jenn's house....so no burning of witches will be happening...or at least it won't be me:eek::D

I am glad you all agree that for the length of time they will be off that I should not have any problems. If I do have problems I will not hold anyone responsible except myself.
