Not impressed with Koralias

When I had my last reef they worked great. These new style ones I have are awful! They continue to stop running for no reason that I can tell. I was trying to save a few bucks where I could to just get started but this isn't working out. Probably going to get an MP40 and a Tunze Nano

To be fair, it "may" not be. I did have mine in when I put in my sandbed but that was after things settled enough that I didn't think particles that small would stop them. When I take the impellers out there is nothing in there.

Tom you will like the Tunze Nano better. K4 is too big compare to the Nano.

Ive had the koralias the tunze nanos and the maximods.
Altho the Tunze was beter than the Koralias they were too fragile.
I switched back to the maximods until I just upgraded to the Vortechs....

Anybody running an MP20/40 in a 90 or similar, and what else are you using?

Something to consider also - if a Tunze nano isn't throwing enough for you, there are simple mods to get roughly 2x the flow from them. I mod'd one and it's impressive.

I had 2 korallia 4's and 1 just stopped one day for no reason. about a month later I put my hand in the tank and "BAM" I got this huge shock. That was the second Korallia blasting me. I then had the Korallia 1 in a frag tank that started popping my circuit breaker soon as I plugged it in. Now I have 2 Tunze 6100's and an MP40. I won't take those Korallias for free.

Get the MP40 for the 90 for sure. I had a Mp20 and I was not impressed then I upgraded it to a MP40 and wow what a diference.

Yeah, I took apart a K4 after it stopped working and the actual motor on the pump is junk. Your far better off with a maxi mod then a Korallia

Maxi mods are very impressive. even on an mj400.... Wow!

I used to love the Maxi mods but with the new technology, they are just so bulky like a Seio. I really didn't want to spend the coin on an MP40 right now but I just may. I would think an MP40 and 1 Tunze nano would be enough where I do not plan, at least as of now, to keep acros.

You can always get an MP20 and if you want to down the line upgrade it to the MP40w it costs $149 to get the upgrade. Thats what I did.

i believe NeverlosT uses both an mp 40 and 20 in his 90 but i am not 100$ on that
