Now sump broke...again, need glass

Just when I thought I had everything put together correctly 2 of the baffles in my sump broke again. I guess that with the globs of silicone they just are not strong enough to support the water.
So being that I live in East Bridgewater can someone recommend some place where I can get some glass cut so I can get some good strong baffles made.

Thanks,
CaptK

Captain..have you tried using acrylic? That's what I've used on my last two sumps that I've put together. I've just put tons of silicone on them...no problem at all. There used to be a glass company in the center of Taunton..not sure if it's still there or not, can't remeber the name either. Maybe check the yellow pages...

Check the yellow pages, I'm sure there are a few around. What thickness glass did you use? How tall is the water your baffles are holding back?

I have been using acrylic with globs upon globs of silicone. The water is at about 10" at its highest point and there was considerable bowing until it was filled up and the weight of the water on either side of the baffles balanced things out.
But I will check the yelow pages for glass places. Are there any specific places/companies I should look for for pieces of glass? And what prices should I expect for like 3 or 4 pieces of glass cut to about roughly 11" x 8"?

it'll cost lest than $10. one frame shop I went to didn't charge me at all for two 1/8" baffles that size. (He actually said "don't insult me" when I offered him a few bucks).

My 1/8" glass baffles don't bow noticably. Under normal conditions there's only about a 2 inch water difference from one side to the other, so not much pressure.

are you sure you even need baffles?

if you attach a 90degree pvc elbow to your return pump and point it down, micro bubbles should not be a problem. another idea is to put a rock in front of the return pump.

you need 1/4 glass or 3/8 acrylic

It is a 29G glass tank.
I did forget to mention that this will be a sump/refugium so that is why I would need the baffles. I looked at the yellow pages over the weekend and found a few window/door places that I think I am going to call.
