This may be unsettling to your stomachs-Graphic Pictures attached.
Well yesterday was a nice day. Met some new faces, which is always a good thing. Saw some long time members we have not seen in a while. It is always good to see everyone on meeting day.
Ret Talbot gave a wonderful and engaging talk yesterday. It was very rewarding to see the membership taking part and asking questions as this is a topic that effects all of us, the hobby and industry as a whole.
Karen brought along some great pieces of work with her to display for the membership. Thank you Karen for donating several pieces of artwork for the raffle, that was an unexpected surprise.
Moe, thank you for stepping up and mentoring the novice that attended the meeting... I hope they become active and engage the club for what I has to offer... I know I can speak for all of us and wish them success in getting started with their new tanks. Make sure you guys start a build thread and share your ventures with the entire club.
I have to admit that my bottom jaw hit the floor yesterday. I was speaking with someone and Paul(Reefkeep2) walked into the house. It is always good to see Paul and he has always been an avid supporter of the club allowing us into his home to view his massive system. I highly suggest that if you ever get a chance to check out his opus (any artistic work, especially one on a large scale) that you do so.
GregH, Frank180 and Elmafioso52988/Pablo brought in some awesome frags... sorry Pablo, I never got back to your frag tank again to take a picture. The ones you posted are much better than the ones I would have taken. Thank you guys for sharing with the club.
Now here is the graphic picture. To quote Melissa McCarthy-"Look away, look away!"
We may have to start having security at these meetings. We were graced with the following past presidents yesterday. I bet Heather/Mrs.Delta was thankful she was not in this picture... good to see you Heather.
From Left to Right: Greg/Delta, Moe/MoeK, Greg/GregHiller, Chris/Turbosnail and myself smack dab in the middle. (thank goodness for steel beam construction)
Finally one of my favorite segments of the meeting and it seems to be growing. I hope it is yours as well. We have to egg on Gary Parr at the November meeting in Taunton. Christine tried the fish goo and Gary swears he will never try it. Even one of the little guys jumped in on the action at this meeting. (Anthony/Karen Talbot/Danny/One of Moe's sons)
Just a little news. After departing yesterdays activities I was listening to Gary Parr and Christine Williams POD Cast on ReefThreads during my commute. There guest speaker was Craig Bingman whom we had as a guest speaker at one of our meetings early last spring out in Oxford. Craig happen to mention his little visit with the Boston Reefers Society. I have been listening to Gary/Christine's POD Cast for the past year and the club has been mentioned at least six to seven times over the past ten months.
Final note: Remember the elections are coming up at the December meeting. If you were ever thinking of stepping up and helping form the direction of the club... now is the time.
Until we see each other again in November. Prep for the winter months, but most of all stay safe and enjoy life! Always a pleasure to see everyone.
