I just wanted to share my thank you to all of you. That was an AWESOME experience for me.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Hope to see you guys and gals at the next one in D.C.

I had an great time! It was so fun to see a bunch of "blasts from the past" and to meet some new people! I had fun socializing w/ everyone. It was kinda like a big BRS meeting....
I got a ton of freebies, won some more food, a few frags, a blue ricordia, and a funky lps coral from Dr. Mac from his "fire sale".

A BIG Thanks to all the volunteers that put TONS of time in!!!!! I know there are more than i know about but esp. to Paula and Doug and his family.

We should do it again...Hows in a year or so and in D.C. sound?:)

This was also a great experience for me... didn't know exactly what to expect as it was my first MACNA, and was somewhat worried with all the negative talk before the event, but it turned out perfect in my view (I only visited the exhibits, fwiw). Congratulations and thanks to everyone who worked so hard to get this done.

One question: are the videos that were being shown on "reef tv" available to BRS members? I didn't stay long enough to watch the whole thing, but the little I saw seemed very well done... I would really like to get a copy.

Nuno

Ok, going to sleep now after getting the 70 gallon set up. I went from a little tank with some xenia in it to a tank of the month overnight. My biggest job was getting all of the corals in. I litterally couldn't fit them all. Just the bags with minimal water filled the tank in two layers. So happy. Thankyou everyone who helped and to whoever pulled out ticket #494005.

Raffle

Ok Am I missing something. How do you find out who won the raffles? I couldn't find any info eiother here or on the MACNA site.

MACNA wa totally awesome!! I'm so glad that Valexia and I spent the whole weekend there. We surely didn't want to miss a thing. A big thanks to all the Boston Reefers who made it possible!! I know it must have taken a lot of work and it was so great to finally meet some of you and put a face with a name. Flighty, hope you enjoy that tank! It's a beauty. One of the best parts, too, is that I won the carbon reactor in the raffle! We'll have to get some pics posted so we can share the event with all. :D

I went on Saturday with a friend of mine interested in getting into the hobby. Had a great time and wished I had more money to spend.

My friend scored a great deal. AGA had a 92 corner tank on display that he bought. He got the tank, stand, 2 strip lights, an overflow kit and the sump that was under the 58 gallon tank. All for ............... $500 !!! Great deal

I'm not sure a record was kept of who won what. You had to be present to win & pu your prize. And there was a TON of stuff. I started a thread in the lounge for anyone to post what they won.
I was working the Bookstore after the raffle & could barely tell you who won what from all the people.
Chris from Reef n Fin (CT) & his wife won the trip to Fiji.
I wasn't at the raffle to take pics, but I know they took pics of the big winners.
3 BRS/NE residents won & took home tank setups:
Flighty: nicely stocked 75g setup
RC Name subdeep from CT, 120g full setup - value close to $6k!!
Randy won the curved front 90g tank - very nice!!

I think everyone needs to catch up on their sleep, breakdown was still going on at 10pm last nite when I finally left. There wasn't too much left to do (I think?) at that point. But some barrells needed to be drained of SW

What happened to the beautiful little display with 5 or 6 rbtas in it that was in the tent. Looked like everyone left and it was still there and set up?

I went thru the tents at about 10p, as far as I could see only boxes were left, to be shipped out. Hopefully someone broke this down, I don't recall seeing it...

Chris from Reef N Fin and is wife won the Fiji trip.

They were breaking it down this morning to take back with them, it was the last thing still setup when i at 9:30 last night

A Big Thank You

I would like to thank all the VOLUNTEERS who made this event happen. It took hundreds of hours of unpaid volunteer time to make this event happen and it couldn't have happened without our wonderful BRS members volunteering time out of their busy schedules to make this happen. To name a just a few names I would like to personally thank the following people:

Paula (Sea Serpent) - she volunteered for the raffle and then just a few weeks before MACNA took on the book store as well. She took three days off from work to make the book store and raffle happen and spent hours preparing for the event. During the event she was always working and missed all of the sessions. A Big thank you to her.

Paul, Bette, and Doug M. - A big thank you to all three of you. The three of you worked tirelessly in the bookstore, running errands, and setting up and taking down tanks. Your family made a huge contribution to this.

Other wonderful BRS members who put a lot of prep work into MACNA and who were there at different times setting up, taking down, and working hard -Moe Kirby
Joe Scavo
Karl Wagner
Greg Hiller
Gustavo
Mike (Little P) and his girlfriend (sorry I forgot your name)
Joanne and her husband - thanks for helping me fold all those shirts :)
Rob Tess
and many more who's names escape me at the moment.

THANK YOU!!!!

Sherry
(Back at work and trying to recover from a great weekend)

My girlfriend name is Gerri

OK, Don't mean to be a pain but I was never told that you had to be present to win. If that was the case then I could of come back on Sunday. I am a little miffed that that information was not given to me. I also believe that it was unfair to anyone esle that didn't get that info. So in reality I just gave a donation to BRS. I have done this before and will probably do it again. But I would like to know when I am just giving the club money. It might of been but If it was posted some where then almost everyone would of gotten the word.

Hats off to all!
This weekend was a true home run, and not just a weak one a true Moe Vaun / Manny blast!
It was awesome spending time with all of you, what a great bunch we have. Getting back to the real world is somewhat bittersweet, we would have loved to had another day or so but I doubt I could keep up that pace.
I also have a gripe on the raffle..... I was so.. so.. planning on the Fiji trip ! I want a recount! ...LOL
Oh well after seeing Walt's presentation on it I think I'll enter another raffle for it, the kind you buy for a couple of Gs at the travel agency. (for the right price they only issue two tickets and they both win) ...

Oh BTW where's Joe Fitz ? .... :D

Joe's not here ;)
There were quite a few people that were unaware of the raffle "rules".
The selling of tickets was supposed to stop at 2pm, but was extended to ~2:30pm
The boxes were then sealed to avoid any possible tampering (or a ticket falling out). Several people showed up at 2-3 minutes before 3pm (the raffle start time) to drop their tickets in the box (which were sealed). No go.

It was a huge raffle (did I mention I won an Oceanlight 250w??) and very hectic both putting it together & the claim redemption process. Paula handled it all very well & did a LOT of hard work organizing this.
I almost hate to mention specific names, since I saw a lot of BRS members running around working all weekend. But since I helped (a little) I saw what Paula put together (and Sherry & Doug's mom - Betty) and...?

The BRS MACNA crew did a lot of work & it showed. And most were behind the scenes...I think someone called them "thankless jobs"
But, Thank You!!

and I had a place all picked out for that 120g, or the 90g, or the other 90g, or the 75g...or the frag tank.....no no...wait the chiller...oh wait...I bought that one
and a 500w heating element (WONPRO) selling for $30!! What a bargain!!

HEY!!! Let's do it again in 2006!! {ducks & hides}
