these were from my cousin's cube tank, not sure the exact size. I told him I'd come help him remove the worms after seeing two or three I felt were too big for his 40ish gallon tank and was only even more intent on helping after he told me that those were not the biggest and that sometimes in the middle of the night he would see them literally covering the rocks.

As you can see, he was not joking. Me and him spent two hours FW dipping all of his rocks and sifting through his gravel without disturbing anything too much, this did not happen but everything seemed to be fine after we stopped. I counted at least 175 worms over an inch all scunched up that we removed, tons of smaller ones I didn't bother counting. Is this normal in such a small tank...or any tank at all? We didn't even get all of them because there were so many in the gravel. I thought this was just amazing.

When he would feed his fish, yellow goby, two different clowns, a wrasse and a small angel, the worms literally would come out to eat like they were fish. I had never read of something like this on these forums or anywhere so I figured I'd share it and see what people thought. And the pictures were just a glimpse of what we removed when I started thinking I should take pictures of this.

Oh and PS,

after leaving my tank alone since the end of july I am starting to work on it again as I feel it is very well cycled now. I will be updating as I build my new sump, make my new ATO system and start adding some more fish and corals in

I personally don't see a problem with bristle worms even in "big" numbers. I consider them a part of the clean up crew and beneficial to the tank.

I was hoping someone would say that, I have quite a few in my tank and ive seen them grabbing food that my fish don't get from time to time. The thing that bugs me is when I am trying to frag corals, Ive heard they sting??

yea, they do sting, but these things were removed due to the fact that they were so large, in such huge quantities and were honestly taking value away from the appearance to the tank. More of a personal preference type thing. I'd rather the first thing I see when I look at a tank, or the first thing I notice, be the fish/corals and not worm covered rocks. There was no way this tank was supporting all these on its own, they would be grabbing more food than the fish it seemed.
