My tang is very happy, the fuge is filling up with this stuff. Soon I will be giving it away. Just put a bunch in the tank, Yellow tang will probably keep eating until its all gone
The other stuff (brillo pad green? gracilla something?) doesnt really grow, I had some in the main tank & the tang ate it all

Dave, why did you use Caulerpa instead of Gracilaria or Chaetomoprhpa?

I have Chaeto, but it really isn't growing at all. The grape is all I have right now. I'm just going to have to prune it a lot.
I actually have been feeding them less (reg food), and they look fatter!! Just started to feed the grape in the past week, when I noticed it seems to be taking off. The tangs seemed to be picking at algae less & less, so I figured reducing other food at feeding time would help

I swear, I must have defective tangs -just my luck.

I have a yellow and a yellow eyed kole and neither will even look at the colerpra that got int my tank. Of course they pick at my open brain and my blasto.

OK Rant over,

Corwyn

Dave - Don't make the mistake of putting that grape caulerpa in your main tank!!!!!!! Once it gets into your rockwork you will never get it out. It will grow in places that your tang cannot reach and will eventually overtake the tank. I mean it !!! Not every tang will eat it . . . and it will grow faster than any tang can eat.

Just my opinion . .. I had to replace every single piece of rock in the seahorse tank because I got tired of pruning it every few days.

Too Late!!
I have so much in this tank growing that will be competing to overtake the tank already:
3-4 different types of gorg (encrusting mat type). 2 grow slowly, 1 (pink) grows faster
I wanted blue shrooms, boy do I have shrooms!! Started to take off, going to have to trim them back
Yellow colonial polyps, moved the rock a couple times, now I have quite a bit.
Xenia (of course)!!! But I do like the look of pulsing, just need to crop it. I also want to pu some of the white pom-pom type. Xenia is the 1st thing non-reefers notice
Ugly brown zoos - crowding out some better colors

Once I have my frag tank fully setup I can trim a lot of this stuff back

For now my Tang is eating every bit he can find. I'm sure I'll have it growing in the rockwork at some point if I keep feeding it (if not already)

Hey Dave, If you want to get rid of some grape caulerpa, I'll take some. My tangs also like chomping on them, though I only give them a little at a time. I can pick up at the meeting if you are going.

I won't be at the meeting, I have a flatworm problem I need to deal with.
