I made the background for both of my tanks out of spray foam and rock salt, then used epoxy paint to highlight the rocks. I did a huge foam rock and back ground for a LFS's codwater display tank recently, here's a pic of when it was just finished and filled with water:
Here's one with after I got the green anemones in it:
Its got a lot more livestock in it now but I dont ever remember to take photos when I go down there, lol.
