Looking for info on Penductors/Educators, do they work as advertised?

Be great to see some pics, pumps running them and estimated flow rates\increases

Anyone running two off of one pump? Issues with this? I would imagine this would reduce pressure and flow created?

Ken at KHT sales (I think that's the place. Check the above link to find the company) is really helpful with selecting eductors, and telling you what you need pumpwise. For two eductors you need a slightly bigger minimum pump size, but you can fit two eductors on a pressure-rated pump over about 1200 gph with excellent results, if I remember Ken's advice. I used one on my mak4 and he said I could put two on it, and I'd still be getting good amplification. I never got around to plumbing the second one, but the one was awesome in my 65g. It really provided all the flow that tank needed. It's very cheap flow for energy used, and the pattern is fairly wide and very turbulent.

I'm really on the fence with those things.

I mean yes they can increase flow in a tank......if used right......but it isn't some magic super flow quadrupler

they decrease the overall turnover ( if used on the output of the return pump) and they can make your pump work harder.

They also become an algea farm.

Yes the one I'm using is homemade, so maybe the store-bought ones are better.

I have Two coming off a Mag 12, work great. I did once swap them out for standard fan fittings, that lasted for about 5 minutes, no comparison IMO.

I am not worried about turn over, I am not a fan of large turn over rate in sump.

Give the store-bought ones a try (I think they're $20, right?) I never had mine grow anything but coraline. Apparently increased head pressure on a pump decreases the energy consumption of the pump (makes no sense, but that's what I'm told). And sure you need some sump turnover, but I think in general tanks have more of that then they need. What do you really need? About the capacity of your skimmer intake pump, right? So anyways, I actually DO look at them as some magic flow quadrupling wonder! These are used widely in industry. There's definitely something to the craze!
