Phosban question 2

OK, I got my phosban and ran it as much as I could see the dust filtering out (about 10 gallons through the crazy thing before it cleared up) and now my blasto isn't really doing that well. Was thriving before I started the phosban. I am getting my mag9.5 this weekend to get my skimmer running (haven't been on advice from several sources for the past month or so). Will that clear up the problem or what? All levels normal NH4, NO2, NO3 all zero, pH 8.4, Alk ~ 9, Cal 430??
