Hopefully this is where to post this Question ,
looking for info on what people are using for power backup ?
I have a generator but looking for any advice on what can i use
in case of a short power outage that my wife can plug in the wavemakers
And it will give me time to get home and get the generator going
I do know on the power stations but would like any info on what would be recommended
Ty in advance Zee

The ecoflows I think it is on Amazon seem to be one of the most popular in the hobby. I haven’t looked into them much myself but I believe it’s always on standby so if power is cut it switches over. So even better your wife won’t have to do anything but say yep the pump is on or whatever you plan to run with it.

I bought one small battery backup on Amazon. Then I bought the adapter for one of my Vortechs. It plugs into house power and senses power loss then turns on. It was $65. It works well with the Vortechs because when they lose power and run in backup mode they run at about 15% constant mode. I tested it and get over 20 hours run time. Just enough flow to keep the fish alive until I can get the generator going.

Awesome thanks

First of all, lithium battery backups become affordable recently and this one is well worth to consider:
For $179 onsale right now is a bargain.

2nd, I won’t consider any lead-acid battery backup that offered for this hobby. There are several major issues:
1. Low capacity, DC only.
2. When a lead-acid battery runs dry, it is permanently damaged and the capacity drops a lot.
3. They are only good for about 2 years.

I took an old UPS work was throwing out because it didn't work and I just bought a bigger battery. I also have one for my DC return pump and I should get well over an hour of backup time in case I am out and about and can't turn on the generator right away.

You can swap the lead-acid batteries inside the UPS with Lithium batteries
