PSA: Check your topoff container

With the really dry weather we've had critters are coming into houses desperate for water. I found two dead mice in my topoff container yesterday. EEEEEEWWWWW. Glad I didn't just flip the swich on without looking like I normally do.

That 400 only has a little opening that I keep covered.

Judging by the teeny mouse bones in the bottom of the rodi container this isn't the first time. I usually leave a lid proped over it so random stuff doesn't fall in, but mice can still fit.

That actually is a great mousetrap. You get a bucket and fill it about 1/4 full of water and float a layer of sunflower seeds on the water. Put a board going across the top for them to climb up. They'll jump into the water thinking it is a pile of seeds and drown. Just be really, really careful because kids can also drown in a setup like this.

We were catching 4 or 5 mice a night this way in our old barn. Much more environmentally friendly than using pesticide.
