Pump Question

MichaelJ

Reefer
I will soon be drilling holes in my floor. The head loss will be approx. 12' to 14'
I want an internal pump, quiet , efficient, and well exactly what every reefer should have gotten when they purchased their pump.

So I need some recommendations.

Maybe I need another coffee I just got up, but if your putting the sump in the basement why do you need a quite internal pump? Fourteen foot head is a lot for internal pumps there are likely some that could work but I would go external.

I need another coffee too. Your right, I meant external.

I've read enough search's to know what I want..... no need for any imput.
I was just hoping there was some newer ideas/suggestions..

Thanks

I bought a reeflo tarpon external pup for my basement sump. No problems with enough flow (it's throttled WAY back on the return. 14 feet of head. I cannot hear it over the very slight gurgling of my return upstairs. lots of extra capacity to drive a calcium reactor or other peripherals, and didn't break the bank. I actually plan to tie it into another upstairs tank over the next month or so.
