Ok I see that.I was just going by info that was told to me by another reefer. I am only 6 months into this so all is still a learning process for myself. I do agree that to maintain and have a thriving tank it does take a huge commitment. Which I am willing to do, I was greatly miss informed and it has cost me at this point.I am now at the point to where I have to back pedal and basically straighten out what has been wronged. Now the way to go about it is yet to be determined.I love the fact that I have so much help through this forum and plenty of you guys out there that know from experiance and I can say from now on I will only listen to BR members and thats it.Obviously my prior help was not as experianced as I assumed. Then there is the what works for one dosnt work for another factor....lol... Just the fact that at this point i feel like an idiot i guess is the only real damage done. Now its just remove all snails and Hypo the tank and hope that it does the trick and maintain a QT tank with a sponge from my sump some pvc elbows and an airstone? Thanks guys hope this works.I seriously have lost sleep the past two nights worrying about this tank.
You know, just by reading this post I can tell you are going to be successful in this hobby.

Don't feel bad,a lot of us had a rough start at it when we first began. And you are not an idiot.
An idiot would just keep going with what they thought was right and ask no questions.Even us guys that have been in the hobby for a while or for a very long while sometimes learn something new.Or something has changed since we first got involved in this crazy hobby.
Maybe somebody in your neck of the woods can stop by and double check a couple parameters and help you out.
I know if you were close by I would have no problem giving you a hand.
But,it seems like you are on the right track now.
Pick up a good book.I started out with Bob Fenner the Conscientous Marine Aquarist. Some of the stuff is a little dated now, but,it gives you the overall important things to look for in the hobby.
My advice to you would be to try and learn how to mix your own salt water. This will give you a good grasp on what parmeters should be and you'll know what you are starting with.
Some LFS will sell you just ro/di,then you'll just need salt mix.
Lastly, don't sweat about or lose sleep over the tank.A lot of time new folks think it's a constant thing to check, recheck and dose.
Once you get to know your tank,it will be like an old friend.Yu'll be able to tell just by looking at it if something is not right. And when it has coral, you'll be able to tell how much calcium, alk the tank is consuming as you'll have a grasp on those parameters as well.
If you do attemp hypo in the DT make sure you have a refractor.Hypo is really only successful if the S.G. is at 1.008.
Read up on that as well.Become a reading machine about the hobby, knowledge is power.
Keep a book in the bathroom.

Good luck, and if you need anymore help feel free to ask.
