Question for folks using a JBJ ATO for top off

Hi all-

Just hooked up my JBJ ATO using Mode B- the one where both float switches are in the sump feeding the tank- one the min and one the max. Quick question- following the instructions, float switch 1/ sensor 1 is the max level. Now when the level is below that but still above the min level, the red light on the controller for sensor 1 stays illuminated, right? And both sensors are installed with the wire coming out the top, right? I plugged a lamp into the PUMP circuit and I've been playing with the 2 sensors for a bit trying to make sure it'll work right. Any help/suggestions from folks using this set up are appreciated!

I use the same top off, but have one sensor in my sump which kicks the pump on for topping the sump off. The other sensor is in my top off tank which holds my RO water. I have that sensor just above the pump so I know when to fill the top off tank with RO water, thus keeping the pump in water all the time. When all levels are OK, the only light that is on is a green power light. Yes, the wires come out the top. Float one thinks the water level is too low. It's trying to turn the pump on, so that makes sense. It should stay on until the water level makes the sensor float. I had trouble with mine on and off for a while and called the company, they said to reset it you have to push up on both floats. That can happen if the sensors are out of the water for too long, I think.

I have mine set in mode A as joanstone has diagrammed. The way you explained it in mode B is correct. The ATO wil only signal the pump when sensor 2 is triggered. It turns off when sensor 1 goes off. Because I drip Kalk for top-off water, I wanted to set mine up to have as consistent of a water level as possible, which Is why I set mine to mode A.
