Question on flow, Tunze wavebox or 2x6000s?

I'm thinking about upgrading the flow in my 120. Right now all I've got running is a mag7 from the sump and a modified maxi1200. I've been noticing the coral hasn't been doing as well as it should and red algae is starting to build since switching into the larger tank (yes, I'm using RO/DI with a PPM of 0). I do have another modified maxijet I can drop in, but that may be too much blasting away.

What my thoughts are between is either a wavebox or a pair of 6000s. It would seem to me the wavebox would do a better job of mass water movement with much less the cost. Unfortunately, it's also ugly as sin and takes up more space in the tank.

Just curious about what people think/what their experiences are with either set-up. Thanks!

A pair of 6100 with a multi-controller will blow everything away.

I agree and you can control the flow too if it too strong. I got four of them in each corner and only two of opposite of each other?s are on for about five hours then the other two goes on, it as if the tide goes in and out. I did have two at the beginning but it start to have the same problem, now it look great. :)

The wavebox alone won't give you the strong flow you need, that's not what it's designed to do.

Four 6100s aren't too much in a 120? Wow, I really don't have enough flow my tank right now!

I'm sorry I forgot to tell you that I have a 210. If your tank is set up that every thing is in the back then two is enough, my set up is that every thing is in the middle and you see all three sides. :D

I just picked up four 6100s and the 7095 controller yesterday. I put two 6100s in my 90 last night. Had to dial them WAY down.... but I have to say that it's one of the best quality things I have gotten so far. HIGHLY Recommended.
