Question on Skimmer and Kalk

Hi Guys-

I am using my RKL to dose Kalk into my tank with a Toms Aqualifter pump. I have the airline tubing in the Kalk resevoir about 2" above the bottom of the container (not to suck up any of the undisolved mixture). The kalk is being dosed into my sump resivoir where my skimmer and return pump is located.

Is it possible that my skimmer is filtering out my kalk solution? I cannot see any kalk in the collection cup, but am wondering if it would be better to drip it directly into the tank?

Some might be.But if your alk and calcium are staying in check it's fine.
I do the same for dosing kalk,but it's a basemement sump with a recirc. skimmer.So the water feeding the skimmer is coming directly from the overflow.
